Designed to encourage young people to develop an interest in computer science, the 1st floor of Living Computer Museum + Labs offers a youthful vibe, interactive experiences, original art, and integral lounge, retail and cafe space.

Modular Display System

Interactives and other displays fit into a modular display system which allows parts to be swapped out as needed. Murals designed by WK Interact are based on photos of local kids, and artifacts from the museum’s collection.

School of Sharks

A large suspended shark sculpture designed by Curious Beast is composed of hundreds of little 3d-printed shark figures. The popular piece marks a space with interactives that explore research into world shark populations.

Conversation Pieces

The central gathering space has features designed to encourage conversations, including a topical card game and sculptural displays designed by Curious Beast that playfully reference the lore of computer programming.
