HORRIBLE SETTINGS

To refresh an existing horror film exhibit, Curious Beast devised a series of playfully horrific immersive settings. Our work for this show included the design of physical surroundings as well as narrative text and illustrations.

Slashers’ Lair

Visitors brave enough to squeeze between bags of “bodies” are rewarded by a wall of “skin” graphics with depictions of infamous characters from slasher films, and related artifacts.

Zombie Bunker

In a section of the exhibit focused on zombies in film and TV, narrative displays and immersive experiences are set within a fortress overrun by zombies.

Vampire Chapel

“Stained glass windows” of the chapel feature illustrations depicting classic memes of vampire lore. Illustrations were created by Ames Bros.

Scarecrows

Throughout the gallery are a series of hand-made scarecrows and other rustic assemblages set against “blood-stained” walls.
